I've been really sucking at LJ, thanks to...constantly being tired and eating bacon. Anyway, I'm supposed to be working, but while looking for reference material, I ended up here. Hi!

Funny story: I got a copy of Sleazy Slice years ago, before I met Josh. The Elf Rape comic was my favorite thing, ever, and I forced that comic on anyone who would visit. It's brutal and wonderful. I was re-reading my copy last night and it's still amazing.

here are some important things:

-- existential hero has released an EP called NEW ZEALAND HANGOVER and i sing on a couple of the songs as wonder for all. i think it turned out just dandy.

-- josh has finally put together this ART & PRINTS FOR SALE page. there's some NSFW stuff, a painfully adorable grey gardens thing, but my favorite is still this:

i may have clocked about 10 hours of sleep this weekend. we were overworked, sickly, and underfed. i plan to spend the next weekend doing nothing but sleeping and eating cupcakes (if possible). but i did get to speed-read through the WATCHMEN. sweet bees! 4 out of 5 doctors agree: it's a pretty good book. i can't believe i worked at jim hanley's universe all those years and never read it. i'm going to re-read it as soon as i get the chance.

hey, here's world of wonder's recap of the DOLLYPOP show. that was fun times! thanks to all who came out. especially camille, who rocked the booby dolly-style shirt and was super great to catch up with. you're an inspiration :) and OH MAN! she got me brownies from babycakes! i wept. and then i munched on them as soon as i got home.

it's a bummer, man. i agree that it's a visual pollution, all of these nasty, lazily made signs. it's as if the people creating things, or in charge of that end have lost their sensitivity and don't care about the environment they are creating for others (universal city walk depressed me the moment we got out of the car).

i can't wait to see the rest of this film project.

When I realized what was going on, I yelped and grabbed my (pregnant) boss's arm really tight. I'm a wuss! The stairwells where I work are like these David Lynch labyrinths with low, green lights and dark corners, which added to my shot nerves. Worried because my phone calls weren't going through, ohhh 9/11 style panick!

We all went outside and everyone was wondering where the hell Chino was. I don't think many folks who live in LA are actually from here. It's nice to have that in common with them.

&& I wanted a milkshake from the Waffle so bad, but had to make do with chocolate soymilk instead. Can't have milk -- doctor's orders! Boo.

just got home from arclight. terribly stressful movie experience. some a-hole pulled the fire alarm at the theater and everyone had to evacuate. so we loitered around for 5 minutes, while one of my coworkers went into NERD RAGE. then the movie resumed and it was fan-fuckin-tastic! they turned off the a/c at around 2 and we were sweltering in the theater the rest of the movie. but the movie is still rad! and we have free movie passes cos of the fire alarm debacle :)

ok, i'm gonna pass out and try not to talk like batman in the morning.

Here are my answers:

I am twenty-eight years old.

3. Where do you live, what do you live in, and do you like it?
I live in a loft in downtown Los Angeles, near skid row. I have a lot of space, not enough stuff to fill it with. I have to fix everything myself (anyone who knows me understands the danger in this). The elevator hardly works, sometimes there is blood on the stoop, there are homeless dudes and bees outside my window. Oh, and there is a bridge is right by my bed, which makes my apartment very dusty and loud. It's super cheap and my air conditioner works, but I'm getting kicked out next year. I live alone and I love it.

4. What do you do for a job?
I'm a freelance graphic designer. Right now I'm doing print work in Hollywood.

5. What would you do with your time in an ideal world where earning money wasn't the top priority?
If I didn't have to earn a living, I would draw and bake and read and listen to records and take regular walks in the park. I'd probably start designing stupid things, such as better illustrated IKEA furniture assembly instructions. This is also dependent on a 30-hour day.

6. Do you make anything?
Besides silly work doodles and the occasional stuffed animal friend? I just made a kitchen counter, a delicious salad, and at some point I won't be too tired to work on a comic. Also I paint, print, sew, knit, crochet, and very rarely I make little songs and even littler movies.

7. What is your favorite food?
Dumplings.

8. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I've got Berlin on the brain again, and maybe a nice little forest cottage or a beach house would be nice. But I'm pretty happy with where I am right now.

this weekend was full of bad movies (IT'S ALL ABOUT LOVE & IN DREAMS) chased down by an awesomely bad movie (ZARDOZ) and lots of hammering/drilling/sawing wood.
